Renovation

This family kitchen was once falling apart; cramped, crumbling, and patched with 2x4s. The homeowners, passionate about cooking, sustainability, and slow living, came to us seeking a space that worked as hard as it welcomed.

We began with a soulful foundation: 150-year-old terracotta tiles reclaimed from French buildings. Their weathered stamps and rich patina set the tone for the entire design: organic, storied, and grounded.

Storage was carved with intention: a slatted oak island conceals an induction cooktop and microwave drawer, while custom pantry drawers hide fresh produce. Quartzite counters, bronze knobs, and mushroom-toned cabinets pair the practical with the poetic. We kept a galley footprint but widened the flow, adding an island for cooking, gathering, and everyday family life.

The result is a kitchen that feels both old-world and modern, thoughtful in every gesture. It’s a place to share meals, grow herbs, linger over tea, and make art at the island. A kitchen that reflects the people who live in it and grows better with time.
