Home should feel like a reflection, not a performance. We shape spaces with care, so they feel honest, layered, and lived-in.

Built on Meaning

About

Where Story Meets Space

Your home is more than walls and floors; it’s the backdrop for life, memory, and quiet rituals. At House Franc, we design spaces that feel lived-in and true, where every material, detail, and gesture honors how you move through the world. We don’t follow trends, we follow you, shaping interiors that carry your story, welcome presence, and grow more meaningful with time.

The name House Franc comes from the French word franc ("fron" in French, “Frank” by us) meaning “genuine.” It’s a quiet nod to our belief that home should feel honest, crafted with care, shaped by story, and true to the people who live there.

This is where our promise begins: to create space for sincerity. Through thoughtful collaboration, enduring materials, and a respect for real life, we design interiors that feel deeply human, meant to be lived in, and loved over time.

Our Foundation

What We Value Most

We let the home (and its people) lead. Natural materials, lived-in textures, and honest details, so spaces feel grounded and unmistakably yours.

Authenticity

No. 01  /

Design is a conversation. We listen closely, ask better questions, and move at your pace, so the process feels human, collaborative, and clear.

Relationship

No. 02  /

Homes should support life: morning coffee, muddy boots, long dinners. We solve the practical with grace, shaping flow that simply works.

Experience

No. 03  /

We slow the rush. We make room for ritual, connection, and spaces that invite you to exhale and stay.

Presence

Raised in Storied Homes

Drawn to European Charm

Emily has always been drawn to spaces with soul. She grew up in Canada in a creative household, surrounded by older homes in constant evolution. Her parents spent weekends hanging wallpaper, reimagining rooms, and tending to the garden. That quiet lesson stayed with her: design wasn’t just decoration, it was a way of connecting and caring.

Years later, in New York City, she worked in user experience design for a major record label, where she deepened her understanding of how people move through the world and how feeling and function must go hand in hand. Still, her love for interiors kept calling. She returned to school for interior design and horticulture, and in 2018, founded Emily Lauren Interiors, now House Franc.

Today, she lives in Austin, Texas, where she and her husband are restoring their 1950s bungalow, with their rescue dog Koda nearby (he’s very much the heart of the home.) When not designing, you’ll find them paddling on Lady Bird Lake or catching a favorite band; simple rituals that mirror the presence and joy she brings to every home she creates.
