Renovation
Nestled in one of Austin’s most historic neighborhoods, this bathroom belongs to a single mother and full-time artist who wanted a space that felt more like her: expressive, soulful, and quietly refined.
We kept the existing footprint and honored the original clawfoot tub, refinishing it in a soft mushroom tone. Rich, natural materials — patinated black terracotta floors, unlacquered brass, zellige tile — layer the room with texture and timelessness. A striking Arabescato Corchia marble slab anchors the space, framed by sage cabinetry and the client’s own painting of her daughter.
It’s a small room with a poetic presence. Serene, personal, and made for the everyday rituals of a woman who creates for a living.
